Katie has been a wonderful friend for many years and hope that she’ll continue to be such for me and my family. Her husband is an awesome mechanic and has helped us out a bunch so when Katie approached me to help her with a blog I was honored and leapt at the opportunity to help out someone who had done so much for me and my family. She was a recent graduate from college, or as the rest of the world would say University, and wanted to get a place up where she could blog about her life as well as showcase some of her wonderful interior design projects and ideas. We worked on the project together going through a few iterations and she was a gem to work with throughout the whole process. We finally decided on what you currently see on her website and I couldn’t be happier.
Hello there! I’m Katie. I’m wife to Brian & mama to Mila Suede. Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I write about my family’s adventures, design projects, food, and random deep thoughts. I use this space to document and celebrate life. Welcome!
I was born & raised in southern California, but Utah has stolen my heart. I moved to the Beehive State in 2008, where I met my husband (who also moved to Utah from Missouri) and fell madly in love with him. We got married in 2010, and Mila joined us in 2014. Our little family loves exploring Utah. We enjoy being outdoors, trying new restaurants, going on long drives, barbequing, hiking, and making friends along the way.

What Katie had to say about me:
“I really enjoyed working with Wayne Smiley. I sought him out to create a website for me to document my life and interior design projects. He brought my vision to life and helped me create an easy to maneuver blog while staying true to my brand. We worked together deciding on fonts, colors, and the overall look. I really enjoyed the process while working with Wayne. He is patient, direct, and quick to respond. I am in love with the end result! It’s everything I had envisioned and more!” -Katie Detherage
